Visiting CHOC is a homecoming of sorts for Dan, who at age 19 was diagnosed by CHOC physicians with a rare and dangerous cancer.
Dr. Torno’s immediate priorities include growing the oncology department and expanding research by recruiting a physician scientist.
“It’s very scary to lose your eyesight. But it doesn’t change much of anything. Your life doesn’t stop. You can still live an incredibly full life,” volunteer Paul told patient Charlie.
The CHOC at Mission Hospital team ensures a patient receives a magical send-off.
