Dr. Coleen Cunningham, CHOC’s senior vice president and pediatrician-in-chief, has been named a “Game Changer” by the Greater Irvine Chamber at its recent Women of Influence event.
Dr. Cunningham was among 10 women leaders celebrated at the 10th annual event held March 30.
Through its Women of Influence awards program, the Greater Irvine Chamber recognizes and empowers women to lead and succeed in their lives, businesses and communities.
The program featured a keynote presentation and conversation-style interview, lunch and a post-event reception and pop-up shop featuring women-owned businesses.
Dr. Cunningham joined CHOC in March 2021 in a dual appointment with UC Irvine, where she serves as chair for the UCI Department of Pediatrics. In her CHOC role, Dr. Cunningham serves as a senior clinical leader with oversight responsibility for the pediatric medical and surgical services, academic advancement, research and teaching programs, as well as the key physician executive liaison between CHOC and UCI.

She earned her medical degree from the State University of New York Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, NY, where she also did her residency in pediatrics and a fellowship in pediatric infectious diseases.
