CHOC Health Alliance (CHA) is again among a select number of physician groups to be recognized for excellence by national trade organization America’s Physician Groups (APG).
CHA – a partnership between Children’s Hospital of Orange County and CHOC Physicians Network, which cares for more than 160,000 Orange County children enrolled in Medi-Cal – earned its second elite status achievement in a row in APG’s Standards of Excellence survey.
To earn such a distinction, CHA exceeded standards in five rigorous domains set forth by the APG:
- Population health management
- Health information technology
- Accountability and transparency
- Patient-centered care
- Advanced primary care
“CHOC Health Alliance is honored to be recognized with an elite status achievement for the second time in a row,” said Dr. Michael Weiss, CHOC’s vice president of population health. “This distinction proves further validation of our work to provide expert and compassionate care, quality and service to our members, and to provide the highest level of support to our clinicians.”
CHA was one of 70 physician group APG members to earn the elite distinction in the Standards of Excellence program, an annual, comprehensive survey administered by APG that evaluates the coordinated care models and the value-based care infrastructure of the organization’s physician group members.
The program is open to all of APG’s approximately 360 physician group members. This year, 137 medical groups, health systems and independent practice associations (IPAs) within APG’s membership participated in the voluntary survey.
