MISSION VIEJO, Calif., Dec. 12, 2018 – CHOC Children’s has named veteran nurse Emma Sandhu as vice president, administrator and chief nursing officer for CHOC Children’s at Mission Hospital (CHOC Mission), the only children’s hospital for families in south Orange County.
In her new role, Emma will oversee the comprehensive services provided to CHOC Mission patients.

Since joining CHOC in 2002, Sandhu has held multiple leadership roles throughout the pediatric healthcare system: manager of Kids Doc Urgent Care; pediatric intensive care unit manager; director of patient care services; and most recently, interim administrator/chief nursing officer for CHOC Mission.
Prior to joining CHOC, Sandhu served as pediatric intensive care unit manager at UC Irvine Medical Center, and registered nurse at Rady Children’s Hospital. She holds a master’s degree in nursing.

CHOC Mission is a separately licensed 54-bed “hospital within a hospital” on the fifth floor of Mission Hospital. CHOC Mission maintains a full medical staff, including physicians in virtually every pediatric specialty, an all-RN nursing staff, and 24-hour hospitalists and neonatologists on site.
